Congratulation to the Walden Rotary Club on their 90 years of being of service to the Town of Montgomery and the Villages of Walden, Montgomery and Maybrook.
Every month their club members and friends transport 2,000 – 8,000 pounds of food from the Food Bank of the Hudson valley to the Montgomery Food Pantry to help keep the cost down.
Over the years the club has funded and helps install many major projects – lamp posts in the Village of Montgomery; the stage at the Maybrook Senior Center; the bandstand at Wooster Grove Memorial Park; a large freezer at Montgomery Food Pantry.
The Club also donates dictionaries to every 3rd grader in the Valley Central School District, awards scholarships to graduating students, gives away hundreds of backpacks stuffed with school supplies, and sponsors the VCHS Interact Club and youth attendance at leadership training programs.
The club supports the local libraries, local Scout Troops, Back Pack Snack Attack, Big Brother Big Sister of Orange County, Hudson Valley Honor Flight, the Salvation Army and many others.

On July 22, the 6th Annual Walden Rotary Golf Classic was held at the Otterkill Country Club
