Senior Center to host parking lot flu shot clinic

The Village of Montgomery Senior Center is pleased to announce a Parking Lot Flu Shot Clinic. It will be held on Wednesday, October 14 at the Senior Center at 36 Bridge Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
Rite Aid Pharmacy will be onsite to administer Flu Shots for seniors. Seniors who would like to receive the flu shot are asked to call the center to reserve a spot by Friday, October 9. There will be a limited quantity.  Call 845-457-9367, Seniors must have valid insurance card. Masks must be worn at all times. 

Need a ride ? The Senior Bus / Dial-A-Bus service phone is 457-2622. The office hours are  9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., scheduling hours: 9 a.m. - 12 noon, Monday through Friday. The Senior bus is for those individuals age 60 and over.
 
The Town of Montgomery Food Pantry is  located at 2200 Rt.  208 Montgomery in the Town of Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance Squad building. The hours of operation are Tuesday: 10 a.m. - noon and Wednesday: 6:30 - 8 p.m. The Town of Montgomery Food Pantry is a resource for anyone in need to receive food once a month and is available to residents living in the Valley Central School District.

It is a  privately run Pantry that has volunteers, staffed by  local churches: the First Presbyterian Church, Village of Montgomery, the First Reformed Church, Village of Walden, Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Village of Walden, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church/Chapel of Walden, Village of Walden and the Brick Reformed Church of Montgomery. The Pantry is mainly funded by private donations and local food drives. 

Riverkeeper Sweep will be held on Oct. 17  from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Benedict Farm Park on 17K. The focus is on tree maintenance of plantings for “Trees for Tribs” along the Muddykill and Wallkill.  Bring your own gloves, clippers and shovel and wear boots.  Register at riverkeeper.org/sweep.  Meet at the barn at 10, call 778-0214 for more information.

Help homeless animals and show off your pet in the Humane Society of Walden’s 2021 calendar. For a $25 donation, your pet’s photo will be included in a 8.5” x 11” calendar and you’ll receive a free copy of the calendar. By participating you provide hope, help, and homes to shelter animals.  Email your submission to vc@waldenhumane.org. Please submit your $25 donation to waldenhumane.org/calendar.See their pets up for adoption  also at  Middletown PetSmart Adoption Center. 

The Town of Montgomery Farmer’s Market continues thru October. It is held every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Town Hall at 110 Bracken Road Montgomery. There are over 20 vendors with an array of items.
 

The Village of Montgomery Museum has reopened. They will be following health guidelines. Call 457-7576 for more on this.

Attention bargain hunters: the annual Village Wide Yard Sale Day is Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Village Hall will be closed Monday, October 12 in observance of Columbus Day.
