Summer concerts continue every Thursday

Many of you have seen the construction going on at the old Montgomery Pharmacy building. Well there will be a  new business venture there. Under one roof you can visit  skin care and wellness specialists. This idea is all  from Jacklyn Rose Skin Care of Montgomery who will be moving their location to this new site.

The annual  Valley Central High School Scholarship Council’s Holiday Craft Festival is planned for Saturday, November 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. With over 90 vendors, there is something for everyone. There will also be raffles, food , entertainment, photos with Santa and the Orange County Sheriff’s Operation Safe Child booth. Admission will be $3 or $1 for students and seniors, free for children under 5. 

The  Montgomery Summer Concert Series  on Thursday evenings fills a void for many who were not able to attend concerts in large venues this summer. 
Bring a chair, a blanket, a beverage but don’t forget to bring a mask and social distance. All concerts are held rain or shine  from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Clinton St. Bandstand. For info, call the Village Office at 457-9661. On August 27 Jungle Love entertains, September 3 will feature the Hillbilly Parade.

The Montgomery Free Library is happy to announce that inter-library(books from other libraries) loans are now available. You can go online to montgomerynylib.org. For the month of August, hours for curbside pick up only are: Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon,  Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 1 - 3 pm.  Any questions call 457-5616. Please bring all returned books to  the book drop on the front porch. Speaking of reading I have finally started to resume reading again and I just finished The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes. Highly recommended, I couldn’t put it down. 

The Village of Montgomery Senior Center is pleased to announce a Parking Lot Flu Shot Clinic.
This will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at  36 Bridge St. from 10 am to 2 pm. Walgreens Pharmacy will be onsite to administer  the flu shots. Seniors who would like to receive the flu shot are asked to call the center  457-9367 to reserve a spot by Friday, September 11th. Seniors must have valid insurance card and of course masks must be worn at all times.
