Virtual Climate Action Workshop set for Oct. 19

The Gardiner Library will host a Climate Action Workshop with SUNY New Paltz Associate Professor Andrea Frank on Monday October 19 at 7 p.m.

Learn about climate solutions and combinations of actions that can lead to a livable future. During the session, participants propose climate solutions which the facilitator then tests using the cutting-edge and science-based En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator, so participants can see the impact on global temperature, sea level rise, and other factors. En-ROADS has been used by members of the U.S. Congress, the Hewlett Foundation, local community groups, the UN Secretary-General’s Office, university professors around the world and many others.

Andrea Frank is a Gardiner resident and an Associate Professor in Photography and Related Media at SUNY New Paltz.  From 2003-12, she served as a lecturer in Photography and Related Media at the MIT Program in Art, Culture and Technology. While at MIT, she audited System Dynamics workshops and courses to better understand the drivers underlying our current environmental and existential crisis. This became the foundation for the creative, collaborative System Drawing format she developed.
