Library presents Summer Reading Bingo
The Gardiner Library will once again offer a Summer Reading Bingo program for all ages. This year, participants can download a BINGO at gardinerlibrary.org/summerbingo.asp or contact Nicole at nlane@rcls.org or call 255-1255 to pick up BINGO card(s) at the library. After July 1, cards will also be available to pick up curbside during the library’s reduced hours. Participants can complete and submit their BINGO cards by September 5. All submissions will be entered into raffles for a chance to win great prizes!  Submit a completed BINGO by emailing it to nlane@rcls.org or dropping it off at the library during opened hours.
In addition to reading challenges, children and teens will have eight challenges in four subject areas to complete on their BINGO cards. Each of these challenge areas is loaded with enough ideas that they are guaranteed to find something fun to do. The Gardiner Library is working in cooperation as part of the Ulster County Library Association to provide a summer’s worth of entertainment and learning.

Virtual science tellers

The Gardiner Library is excited to announce a Virtual Summer Children’s Program from Science Tellers premiering on June 27. Performers, educators, and artists from all over the country have created prerecorded shows that incorporate science with storytelling. “Dragons: Return of the Ice Sorceress” invites children Grades K-5 on a fun fantasy adventure: “Long, long ago, two kids go on a daring adventure to find a dragon and save the kingdom from the Ice Sorceress! When things don’t go as planned, however, they must turn to themselves (and to science!) for the answer.”
Families are able to access this 35-minute program from its premiere through Labor Day. Visit the Ulster County Library Association at uclib.org/srp-2020/events to access the programming on or after the premiere date. Another ScienceTellers program entitled “Aliens: Escape from Earth” premieres on July 25.
