The Walden Harvest Fest was truly a great day. Thank you to Mike Bliss, Recreation Coordinator, his committee and all organizations who volunteered and assisted in any way.
I’m happy to announce the winners of the Harvest Fest Baking Contest in Boys Category - 1st place: Mason Hoffman for Brownie Pie (A 4 time winner); 2nd place: Seth Olinda for Smores Brownie Pie; 3rd place: Mason Bliss for Pistachio Cream Pie. Girls Category – 1st place: Serenity Ryder for Strawberry Pie; 2nd place: Trinity Illenberg for Banana Custard Pie; 3rd place: Michaela Bliss for Dreamy Smores Pie. Honorable mention: Isabella Friscia for Chocolate Chip Pie. Womens Category: 1st place and Best Overall: Felicite Calabrese for Hard Cider Apple Pie; 2nd place: Gina Lown for Broccoli Pie and 3rd place: Brittany Moore for Purple Sweet Potato Pie.
Olivia Jerseys. age 9 won the frog jumping contest. Her frog jumped an amazing 106 inches in the contest. WOW!

Guest speaker at the Jacob T. Walden House, 34 North Montgomery Street on Wednesday, October 16, 7:30 p.m. is Railroad Historian, Bob Earle. Everyone is invited attend and learn about the birth in 1866 of the Wallkill Valley Railroad and how it later consolidated with the N. Y. Central Railroad.

The Josephine-Louise Public Library sends the following news:
A reminder that author Robi Josephson will be at the library tomorrow night, October 10, at 6:30 p.m. She will talk about the Smiley family and the 150th celebration of the Mohonk Mountain House. Copies of her two books will be available for purchase and signing. These books make an excellent Holiday gift for local history buffs!
The library will be closed on Monday, October 14 for the Columbus Day holiday.

Classic Movie Night is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 6 p.m. Our feature film is “The Night of the Hunter”. Movie snacks provided.
