I would like to know why something as important as getting this vaccine distributed is being done by politicians and bureaucrats? The same people that brought us the DMV, DEC, and a myriad of other bureaucratic nightmares. Why are they doing it by occupation instead of need? There are cops that haven’t been out from behind a desk in a decade. Others sit in their car watching traffic go by. Isn’t the mask Prince Andrew and his Covid cronies make us wear good enough to write a ticket? I would think there are fire fighters that don’t mingle with the public either? People in need have to wait while they hunt down all these preferred people, whether they want the shot or not. Now they added teachers to the preferred list. Why? They work half a day, half a year, when they actually are working. Which isn’t much in last year. What do they need to be vaccinated for? Their next vacation?

Why don’t we  vaccinate based on need. Those most vulnerable first. Anyone with pre existing conditions, regardless of age or occupation. My sister in laws sister went into the hospital for cancer surgery and came out with Covid. My brother has to go in for chemo and radiation treatments daily. He has more pre-existing conditions then I can list. Does he get vaccinated? No. They’re too busy chasing down teachers that don’t even go into a classroom.

Why not set up in front of every hospital, medical center, and even doctors offices, and vaccinate everyone that goes in? Employees, patients, even visitors. Using Prince Andrews math in reverse, every person vaccinated is ten more they can’t give it to. As vaccine becomes available set up in front of grocery stores, drug stores and the Post Office. Get everyone. Swaths of vaccinated people. Don’t bury them in bureaucratic BS. Just log a social security number or drivers ID so you can mark them off twice when you start the second round. And if you’re concerned with those with no ID, just give them the damn shot. They can come back on the honor system.

Let’s get people vaccinated. My brother-in-law was vaccinated weeks ago in North Carolina. Retired. No pre-existing conditions. If other States can get people vaccinated, what’s wrong with New York? Get it done.
