Valley Central girls have matured since last season’s 3-13

After finishing 3-13 last season, Valley Central’s softball team comes back with many players this spring, and they are a little older and hoping for better results this season.

“I think we have matured through the year,” said Katie Farrugia, Valley Central’s coach. “They worked over the summer, the fall and winter with me and their travel teams.”

Sisters Erin, sophomore, and Josephine Feeney, a junior, will pitch to Mackenzie Kiernan, sophomore, the catcher.

Megan Guidry and Taylor Weeden will play first base. Amanda Paulus and Alyssa Bonilla will be the shortstop. Sarah Congelosi will play third base.

Gabby Teutel, Jackie Rometo, Lauren Serrao, Breona Logan and Francesca DiBenardo will be the outfielders. Adrianna Reda will be an infielder for the Vikings this season.

Now the Vikings are starting on a new trek, and Farrugia already feels better about where they are headed.

“I think we have come a long way from last year,” said Farrugia.
