Virtual Class: Creating Online Courses offered at library
The Gardiner Library will host a Virtual Class on Creating Online Courses: A Road Map with Jennifer Thayer on Saturday, May 23 from 9 to 10 a.m.
Those interested should e-mail the Library Director, Nicole Lane at nlane@rcls.org for the Zoom link. Jennifer will take the class through the planning and decisions that she made in creating and launching her website The Board Mechanic, LLC and with it, her first online course, “Intentional Board Design”.
This broad overview will cover her platform decisions, course creation basics, some marketing tactics and strategies, costs / budget: namely, everything you need to think about in order to get started on launching your own enterprise.
Participants will receive a presentation manual laying out the different components and decisions you’ll have to make to launch your own business.  

Jennifer Thayer is a technology strategist with a broad background in B2B collaboration technologies, product innovation and growth strategy, Jennifer Thayer has consulted on a range of strategic areas from tech governance to business development to product innovation and launch. Experiences with failure and survival has deepened Jennifer’s appreciation for good governance, driving her to launch TheBoardMechanic.com in 2020. She lives in Gardiner. 

Virtual Medicare 101
The Gardiner Library will host a Virtual Medicare 101 with Jim Farnham on Thursday, May 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.. Those interested must register in advance. This talk will cover Medicare Basics. Topics covered include: how and when to enroll, when you can make changes, and the insurance options available to you. Review and compare Medicare Parts A, B, C and D. Explore and evaluate Original Medicare, Prescription Drug Plans, Medicare Supplement Insurance and Medicare Advantage Plans. Receive the most up-to-date information and simplify the choices you need to make. Jim Farnham, Health Insurance Consultant, returns to present this highly informative and well-received talk.
