Walden man to spin on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Posted

Tommy Romeo of Walden will appear on “Wheel of Fortune” this Thursday on ABC 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Romeo is a professional poker player and a substitute teacher with a bachelor’s degree in teaching physical education and health. He enjoys traveling, watching sports and game shows and gambling. Romeo has been tuning into “Wheel of Fortune” for about 20 years. He got to be a contestant on the show by applying and submitting a video through wheeloffortune.com in hopes of winning a car. Romeo was thrilled to be on the show.

“It was awesome,” he said. “Once in a lifetime opportunity. I was happy to be on there.”
Romeo is competing during the third week of shows that co-host Vanna White stepped in as host at the iconic wheel while Pat Sajak recovered from abdominal surgery. Romeo and the other contestants will be spinning the wheel and solving hangman-style puzzles to win once-in-a-lifetime weekend getaways, new cars and cash prizes.

Wheel Watchers Club members will want to pay specific attention to the mystery round. If the $10,000 mystery wedge is won by a contestant, then the SPIN ID of a loyal viewer at home will be revealed, giving them the chance to also win $10,000.
