Walden Rotary Club donate dictionaries to VC third graders
Third grade students from Pakanasink Elementary School pose with dictionaries. The Wallkill East Rotary Club distributed almost 400 dictionaries to third graders in its communities this fall. The dictionaries have been distributed to all the third graders in the Pine Bush Central School District and to third grade students at Chapel Field Elementary School, Harmony Christian School and Middletown Christian School. This is the fourteenth year that the Wallkill East Rotary Club has provided these dictionaries. Since the project started, the Wallkill East Rotary Club has given out almost 6,000 dictionaries. This project is part of the International Dictionary Project, which distributes more than 1 million dictionaries worldwide each year.

The Valley Central School District is pleased to accept the generous donation of dictionaries from the Walden Rotary Club to all third graders. This effort is part of a national effort called the National Dictionary Project.
The dictionaries will be distributed at all of the District’s four elementary schools, as well as Most Precious Blood School, during American Education Week. This effort supports the broad English Language Arts standards set by the State and Federal government and dovetails nicely with the Informational Writing Initiative in the Valley Central Schools.
