Wallkill Community helping Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry

Posted

The pandemic has greatly impacted our local community in many ways especially through a loss of a family member or loss of one’s employment. As a result, many families have been financially affected reducing their means to provide for essential items. Since February 2020, there is a 72% increase in the number of families needing the goods and services provided for by the Wallkill Loaves & Fishes Pantry. Due to this substantial increase in demand, the Pantry asks for its neighbors to donate these items:
• Canned chili
• Canned beef stew
• One pound bags of white rice
• Canned mandarin oranges

• Small boxes of OTC items including Band-Aids, Tylenol (acetaminophen), Advil (ibuprofen), Aspirin and Neosporin (antibiotic ointment). Generic brands are acceptable.
Your donated items can be brought to the food pantry located behind the Wallkill Reformed Church at 45 Bridge Street, Wallkill. If no one is present to collect your donated items, they can be placed in the large bins outside the pantry. If it is easier for you, monetary donations are welcomed. Please make checks payable to the Wallkill Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry and mail to PO Box 54, Wallkill NY 12589.
If you would like to learn about other ways you can give a lending hand to your community, please join us at the Vision of Wallkill’s monthly meeting. Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 8th, 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Community Room in the Shawangunk Town Hall. Check the VOW Facebook page for more details and other events, or call/text (845) 527-6230. Masks and social distancing are required at all VOW meetings and events.
