Wallkill Valley Federal purchases old Key Bank building

Wallkill Valley Federal recently purchased the old Key Bank building at 16 Wallkill Ave for its loan operations.
President and CEO Mike Horodyski said Wallkill Valley Federal will move its loan operations to the building, consolidating employees from other branches. The operations are mostly back office support, so there will be no customer interaction at that branch.

“It will help us bring everybody together and bring them to what will end up being a really nice work space,” Horodyski said.

The teller line was removed from the building and the space converted into mostly offices and cubicle spaces, Horodyski said. It has not been decided what will be done with the mural in the bank.

Wallkill Valley Federal hopes to open the branch by mid-September.

While the additional office will increase the company’s scalability, Horodyski said they do not currently have any plans to hire additional staff.

Wallkill Valley Federal purchased the building in January 2019 for $385,000, according to Ulster County property records.
