Tommy Norton played for Wallkill’s football team for two seasons, and during his second season as a senior this past autumn, he played quarterback and wide receiver.
Now Norton will head to Western Connecticut State University, a D-III school in Danbury, in the fall to play quarterback and study criminal justice.
“I just love the game,” said Norton, prior to signing his letter of intent Friday.
Norton signed his letter of intent in the library of Wallkill High School as friends and family members watched him take the next step in his life, and he praised the coaching staff at Wallkill for giving him the chance to play college football.
“My coaches prepared me to be disciplined,” he said, “ and to never give up despite adversity.”
