After sending a “handful” of players on the 2018 team to the senior team this season, the Middletown Cobras junior American Legion team played Shrub Oak Tuesday, June 11 at their home in Montgomery at the Field of Dreams.
Middletown’s starter, Casey Dailey, after having not pitched for many months, gave up a run in the first inning before Joe Kelly tied it for Middletown in the bottom of the first with an RBI-single.
Shrub Oak scored six more runs before winning 7-1.
“Casey Dailey pitched ok after not pitching for over a year and half,” said Gil Roman, Middletown’s coach.
The team includes players from Goshen, such as Dailey and Kelly, and Middletown. Valley Central’s Tyler Eisenhardt also plays for the inexperienced team.
“It’s a very young team,” said Roman.
