FEDERAL SECTION 5311 CONSOLIDATED GRANT ASSISTANCE PROJECT PUBLIC NOTICE Public notice is hereby made that the County of Orange is applying for federal financial assistance to provide operating assistance to the following transit services for Calendar Years 2024-2025: demand-responsive/fixed-route, Dial-A-ride service in the Towns of Goshen and Chester operated by the Town of Goshen, the Towns of Montgomery and Crawford operated by the Town of Montgomery, the City of Port Jervis and the immediate surrounding area of the Town of Deerpark operated by the City of Port Jervis, and the Town of Warwick operated by the Town of Warwick. Public notice is further made that the County of Orange is also applying for federal financial assistance to purchase seven (7) new, replacement 12-passenger wheelchair lift-equipped buses with related equipment, and two (2) new, expansion 12-passenger wheelchair lift-equipped buses with related equipment for open to the public, demand-responsive service on a continuing basis in the Towns of Goshen, Chester, Montgomery, Crawford, and Warwick, and the City of Port Jervis. The transportation service will be available to the general public during all hours of operation. The project is expected to be financed by federal Section 5311 public transportation funds, with additional funds to be provided by the NY Statewide Mass Transportation Operating Assistance Program, the County of Orange, and the individual bus operators. The total federal share is expected to be $1,659,464.00 with a total project cost of $5,809,871.00. Comments on the proposed project are invited from the general public, private bus and taxi companies, other public transportation providers and human service agencies. Private bus and taxi operators may request copies of the project service description from the above-named person and may submit comments on the service as described. If you wish to comment on any aspect of the proposed project, submit a proposal or a request for service coordination you must make your interest known in writing within fifteen days of the date of this publication and provide your comments within fifteen days of your receipt of the project service description.
