TOWN OF MONTGOMERY TOWN BOARD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Montgomery on October 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Montgomery Town Hall, 110 Bracken Road, Second Floor, Montgomery, New York regarding the adoption of a Local Law which, for the 2025 fiscal year, would override General Municipal Law §3-c, which requires that all local municipalities cap their allowable tax levy growth at the lesser of two percent (2%) or the rate of inflation defined as the average monthly national Consumer Price Index calculated by the U.S. Labor Department for the 12-month period ending six months prior to the start of the fiscal year. Any resident of the Town of Montgomery is entitled to be heard concerning the proposed Local Law. Copies of the proposed Local Law are available on the Town’s website at www.townofmontgomery.com and are further available for review at Montgomery Town Hall, 110 Bracken Road, Montgomery, NY 12549. The Town of Montgomery will make every effort to assure the hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities.
