99th Assembly race update

Final vote results continue to wait for the 99th Assembly District candidates as the New York State Board of Elections have not released official results. The 99th Assembly District candidates this year included first time candidate Kathryn Luciani and veteran Orange County Legislator Christopher Eachus.

The New York State Board of Elections reported the unofficial results of the race with Eachus at 18,326 votes and Luciani with 18,323 votes. 1,925 votes were blank, 5 were void and 11 were write-ins for a total of 38,590. A final hand count is to be conducted and the final results must be submitted by Friday, December 15.

The Orange County Board of Elections released on their official website their General Election Statement of Canvass 2022. According to their statement, the County Board of Canvassers met on December 2 and certified the vote counts. The total number of votes cast was 32,900 with Eachus receiving 16,631 on his Democratic line. Luciani received 13,016 on her Republican line and 1,551 on her Conservative line for a total of 14,567 votes. 1,690 votes were blank, 3 were void and 9 were write-ins.
