Alexander J. Angelo, of Newburgh, entered into rest on Friday, November 25, 2022. He was 95.

Son of the late John Angelo, Sr. and Mary (Bedetti) Angelo, he was born on February 18, 1927 in Newburgh, NY.

Alexander, also known by friends and family as “Alex” and “Red”, was a lifelong resident, and served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII. He was a retired building and grounds keeper for the Newburgh Enlarged School District, Newburgh. In the early years he also worked for Stroock’s and DuPont, Newburgh.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann (Schmidt) Angelo; and two sons. Michael and wife Lori Angelo of Pine Bush, and their son, Austin of CA, and Christopher Angelo of NY; his wife, Mary Ann’s children, Frank Martinez of CA and Philip Martinez, and his son, John, of Temecula, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Alexander is predeceased by a daughter, Maria Angelo and two brothers, Anthony Angelo and John Angelo, Jr.

At the request of the family, all services and burial at St. Francis Cemetery will be private.
