Annual HVSPCA fundraiser

As the originator of the blanket drive, donation and adoption fundraiser for the HVSPCA, it is important for me to note clarification of your recent article.

Three years ago Jim Kerr & I ran our first bedding supply fundraiser hosted at the Golden Rail Ale House.

I booked bands who played and many people, not affiliated with the HVSPCA volunteered to help.
This event then and since is not a function of the HVSPCA. It is an event run by non HVSPCA volunteers for them.

The past two years thanks to the generosity of board members Paul Teutel and Joannie, Jim & I decided to run it at the HVSPCA facility which happily resulted in event day dog and cat adoptions along with high donation rates.

I owe it to the many volunteers to make this distinction clear as so many non HVSPCA volunteers spent countless months & weeks preparing for and even working at this event.

They deserve to be recognized for their great efforts purely for their love for animals.

This distinction is lost in the current article in your publication. This event is for the HVSPCA not by them.

I look forward to your posting and printing of this clarifying editorial as these people deserve to be recognized for their kindness.
