Come explore the picturesque High Peter's Kill Footpath with Laura Conner, Environmental Educator, on this approximately five-mile hike. We'll start by walking downhill on the High Peter's Kill Footpath, which features a variety of terrain along a cliff edge with numerous, scenic viewpoints. If conditions are safe, we'll climb a steep hill to reach a rocky outcrop that offers a nearly panoramic view from the Catskills to Millbrook Mountain. For our return trip, we'll walk along the easy-going Awosting Falls Carriage Road, past the beautiful and iconic Awosting Falls. This hike does include rocky, narrow and steep sections of trail that may be challenging for some as well as possibly icy. Participants should bring enough water and food for the outing and wear proper hiking shoes equipped with ice traction devices. All visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask when inside buildings. All unvaccinated participants are encouraged to wear face coverings and keep a minimum six-foot distance away from others who are not part of their immediate household when outside.
