Carl H. Doderer, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Saturday, December 17, 2022. He was 84.

 Son of the late Harold T. and Anna B. (Pollock) Doderer, he was born on January 25, 1938, at home in the Town of Newburgh.

Carl was a quality control specialist for I.B.M., East Fishkill, and retired in 1993. Earlier in his career he was a trouble shooter and main frame technician at I.B.M’s Poughkeepsie facility. He was a Charter and Life Member of the Winona Lake Fire Engine Co. #2, Inc. In addition he was a member of the Orange County Red Vest Association  and the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman’s Association. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and camping, and he loved anything computer related.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Flanagan) Doderer; two sons,  Harold “Howie” Doderer, and Karl E. (Carolyn) Doderer, both of the Town of Newburgh; two beloved granddaughters who were the light of his life,  Sydney Nicole and Hanna Belle; a sister in law, Rebecca Doderer; two nieces, Sue Ann Egan and Patricia Haustein; special cousins Eva Davis, Joan Surdykowski, Gary Dreyer, Ruth Pollock Newsom, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. 

 In addition to his parents Carl was predeceased by a brother, Richard A. Doderer.

We would  like to thank our family and friends for their unwavering support during the time of Carl's illness. 

Our family would also like to   thank  Hospice of Orange and Sullivan, especially Carl's nurses Grace and Sandy, for their tender care and kindness. Their visits brought such joy to him. 

Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550. There will be a Firematic Service at 6:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Sherwood officiating.

Burial will follow at New Windsor Woodlawn Cemetery.
