Catherine “Cathy” G. Huggins of the Town of Newburgh entered into rest Sunday, October 24, 2021 after a short bout with pancreatic cancer. She was 74.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Crudele) Gondolfo, Cathy was born November 5, 1946 in Newburgh, NY. As a daughter to a proud farming family, she and her sister worked tirelessly harvesting apples, plums, cherries and other fruits all throughout their adolescence. She began working for George Northrop, ESQ. during her Senior year at Newburgh Free Academy, graduating in 1964. Her work continued as a paralegal until her retirement.

Cathy loved to travel and lived in many places due to her husband’s Air Force service. A natural athlete, she adapted quickly to base life, achieving All Island Championship status in both Softball and Basketball. Her true love was tennis. Cathy competed on and Captained countless USTA teams, playing with the same group of ladies for over 30 years.
