City of Newburgh to hold Holiday Parade

Posted

The City of Newburgh is pleased to announce its highly anticipated socially distant Holiday parade. The parade takes place Saturday, December 4, 2021, starting at 12 p.m.

The parade officially begins at the DPW garage and makes its way to South Street, Broadway, Dubois, and travels throughout the East End. Department vehicles and floats from Fire, Police, DPW, and the Water Department will transport Santa and his friends through various neighborhoods to spread cheer and joy this Holiday season.

This year, Delano Hitch Park and the Newburgh Armory Unity Center along South William Street have been designated as viewing areas so that those who are not on the parade route can observe the parade. We ask everyone to practice COVID-19 safety precautions while enjoying the parade. Viewers are asked not to congregate and are encouraged to wear a face mask should they not be able to remain socially distant. Kids and adults alike will be entertained by floats, family atmosphere, and free hot chocolate. The Holiday parade will also make a scheduled stop at Safe Harbors Green.

Since it is not possible to have the parade go through every City street, routes have been adjusted to make sure the City can cover as much ground as possible. Residents should keep an ear out for sirens and holiday music as the parade makes its way through their neighborhoods.
