Council approves ARCADIS contract

Newburgh City Council approved Monday, August 12 a professional engineering services agreement with Arcadis of New York, Inc. The contract amount is not to exceed $292,000 and would be used for the Lead Service Line Inventory Project.

Commissioner of Public Works Jason Morris reminded the city council that the city is undertaking lead service line inventory work. The inventory work is required to be submitted in October of this year to the New York State Department of Health. The work would be funded through a grant received in 2022 from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law program in the amount of $968,000.

The funding from the grant would also help with the reimbursement of a vac truck purchased to hydro excavate the water services lines to determine their composition.
