David Coffey

David Coffey, 74, entered into rest on April 7, 2021. The son of the late William and Josephine (Tomanic) Coffey, he was born in Newburgh.

David proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict with the Vietnam Combat Task Force from 1967-68. He was a Special Needs Teacher for the Beacon City School District, retiring in 2009 after 39 years of teaching. He graduated from the University of Tampa, FL, earning his MBA, and attended Mount Saint Mary College and SUNY New Paltz. He was a member of the NYS Teachers Assn., National Education Assn., American Legion Post #0203, and the Studebaker Driver’s Club.

He is survived by his loving sister, Patricia Larkin of Cornwall-on-Hudson; beloved niece Kara Larkin Rogers and her husband Christopher of Fairfax, VT; great-nephews Camden John Rogers and Hayden Rogers; and many longtime, dearly cherished friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Gary Larkin.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
