Dennis A. Hayden, a long time Newburgh resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. He was 78.

Son of the late Harry J. and Teresa (DeVito) Hayden, he was born on June 25, 1943 in Greensboro, NC.

“Denny”, as he was known to many, was a retired manager with his family’s business, Orange County Coat Factory in Newburgh. He also owned Wisner Deli catering service. He attended NFA High School where he was a football star and voted “Best Dressed” student. He completed his education at University of Miami where he continued to be a star football player. Dennis proudly served his country in the US Army; having served in Vietnam. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Newburgh, a member of Newburgh Lodge #247 B.P.O. Elks and New Windsor Post #1796 American Legion.

He is survived by his sister, Lisa Hayden of Newburgh; loving dear friend, Kathleen Boyland of Newburgh; his niece, who was like a daughter, Ashley Sarvis of MA; and many cousins. His beloved dog, Daisy departed this earth within days of Dennis’ departure to be with her loving owner. 

Dennis was a man of Faith, with family and friends always in his focus. He will be missed by many.

Private cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Plans for a Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
