Epiphany of Life opens at Mindy Ross Gallery

Judy Reynolds is an artist who appreciates where she lives, the Hudson Valley. Having lived the greater part of her life in Newburgh with a relatively short stint upstate in Kinderhook and now residing in Cornwall, the Hudson River has always been present in her life.

Her works in oil and pastels are pure beauty. She is a landscape artist who especially enjoys capturing views of the land and the River for which the Hudson Valley is named, and “dreamy marshlands in Maine” during early spring and late fall. Her paintings highlight “sunsets, storm endings, and foggy marshes” and are enriched with the “changing colors of the seasons.” She paints en plein air as well as in her studio where she works and reworks as she seeks perfection in each piece.

A reception celebrating her solo show Epiphany of Life is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in the Mindy Ross Gallery and Foyer. During the reception, pianist Geoffrey Hamburg of Albany will play contemporary standards as well as his own compositions. Come and enjoy the music and refreshments and gathering of friends. But most of all, take time to view the splendor and richness of each piece of art. And come back and visit the exhibit throughout its duration.

Epiphany of Life ~ a solo show of paintings by Judy Reynolds runs from November 9 through January 6, Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays till 5 p.m. The gallery and SUNY Orange are closed Thanksgiving weekend and from December 23 through January 2.

Kaplan Hall is located at the corner of Grand and First Streets, GPS ~ 73 First St., Newburgh.
