On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 2:12 PM, a City staff member reported a fire at 139 Third Street. The City staff member obtained a fire extinguisher from the first-floor apartment and put out the fire in the hallway.
Upon arrival, the City of Newburgh Fire Department used a pressurized water extinguisher to cool any remaining hot spots and checked for extension to building systems.
Fire investigation is ongoing, but the fire is not considered suspicious.
