Head-on collision on River Road

The New Windsor Police Department responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Thursday, March 16 at 8:06 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene of the accident, officers discovered a head-on collision had occurred which caused several serious injuries.

The New Windsor Volunteer Fire Department handled the extrication of one of the vehicle operators who was trapped inside. The Vails Gate Fire Department assisted in establishing a landing zone as the extricated driver had to be airlifted to Westchester Medical Center.

Four other subjects involved were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with the assistance of the New Windsor and Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps. At this time, the investigation into the collision is ongoing and the New Windsor Police Detectives ask that anyone who may have witnessed the accident to please call them at (845) 565-7000.
