Henry J. “Duke” Nachbar Jr. of The Villages in Florida formerly of Blooming Grove/New Windsor, NY and Western Australia, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.  He was 92.

The son of the late Henry J. and Ada (Clarke) Nachbar Sr., Henry was born July 24, 1928 in Schenectady, New York.

A retired steamfitter with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 373, Henry was Past President and member of the Poughkeepsie New Yorkers a Barber Shop Quartets in Poughkeepsie, NY, Knights of Columbus in Washingtonville, South Blooming Grove Fire Department and the Chordmen Quartets in Western Australia.

Survivors include his children, Frederick Nachbar and wife, May of Washington State, Stephen Nachbar and his wife, Sharon of Florida State, Kathleen Korth of West Virginia and Michelle Campbell and her husband Tom of New York; stepchildren: Martin Thompson, King Thompson both of Queensland Australia, Nereda Reed and Julienne Thompson both of Western Australia. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents Henry was predeceased his first wife, Lorraine  (Messier) Nachbar in 1982 and his second wife, Paula Nachbar of Western Australia.

Plans for a Memorial Service will be announced at a future date.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Henry’s memory to a Humane Society of one’s choice.
