Greetings from River City. The last of the warm days are waning. Fields are the bright orange of pumpkins and Autumn harvests are filling the bins in supermarkets. Signs of Halloween are everywhere. It all goes so fast, I can’t keep up with the time as I once did. No doubt, I’m not alone in that. Even young people seem to feel the time is going fast. Frankly, I’m beginning to think someone has shaved a few hours off the old 24 hour day and never said a word.

Executive Director Lisa Silverstone hosts a compelling conversation with founder Tricia Haggerty Wenz, who recounts the journey to transform the former Hotel Newburgh into affordable, supportive housing.
Joining the discussion are two early partners: Douglas Hovey, President and CEO of Independent Living Inc., an advocacy and service agency that has partnered with Safe Harbors since the beginning to provide residents with supportive case management, and by Safe Harbors’ founding Director of Operations Ramona Monteverde, who recently retired after 22 years with the organization.
