James L. Kranz, Sr., a longtime Town of Newburgh resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 12, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 68.

Son of the late John T. and Grace V. (Carl) Kranz, he was born on March 13, 1953 in White Plains, NY, and spending his childhood in Elmsford, NY.

“Jim” as he was known by friends and family, was a retired plumber for UA Local 21 Plumbers and Steamfitters, Peekskill, NY. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1971 to 1973.  Jim was an avid Yankee’s and Jets fan and was an all around jokester. He loved tending to his yard and could often be seen helping his neighbors with whatever their needs were.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; a son James L. Kranz, Jr., and his wife, Krystine of the Town of Newburgh; a daughter, Jill Ramnath and her husband Miguel of Montgomery; two brothers, Charles Kranz of Peekskill, NY, and Scott Kranz of Patton, PA; three sisters, Maryellen Robbins of Pinehurst, NC, Patricia D’Eufemia of Wappinger Falls, and Diane Panzarino of Lowville, NY; two grandchildren, Aubree and Nora; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by a brother, John Kranz.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Plans for a Celebration of his Life with be announced at a later date.
