Jean Bell, a cherished member of the Hudson Valley community and a long-time resident, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and dedication. Born into a large family of seventeen siblings, Jean understood the value of close-knit bonds, and family was at the center of her world.
Jean embraced the roles of homemaker and bookkeeper, contributing her skills to the family business, George Bell Excavating in Newburgh. She also co-owned Duds and Suds in Newburgh alongside her companion, Anthony "Tony" Dejesus. Her commitment to both her family and business ventures showcased her resilience and determination.
A true matriarch, Jean found joy in preparing delicious meals, especially during the holidays, creating warm memories for her loved ones. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of her five daughters: Debra DeZemo (Michael), Georgette Earl (Bob), Kate Felten (Gary), Ann Bell, and Robbin Bruno.
She is also survived by her companion, Tony Dejesus, and grandchildren: Jennifer Lasouska, Melinda Lasouska, Amanda Crinieri, Bobby Earl, Nicholas Bruno, Gary Felten, Amy Felten, and Melissa Schreibel. Jean's great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ava Grace, Lily, Ava J.,Jordan, Bobby, Sophia and Emily brought immeasurable joy to her life. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories shared with their beloved aunt.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, George Bell Jr., in 1999, her son-in-law, George Bruno Jr., and her grandson, G. Jesse Bruno. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved them.
A Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Ross Topliff, was held on Friday, January 5, at White, Venuto, and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service. Subsequently, a burial service took place at The Bruynswyck Rural Cemetery, Wallkill.
