ohn S. Derham, Sr., of Newburgh, entered into rest on Saturday, October 30, 2021. He was 92.

Son of the late George and Ethel (Scott) Derham, he was born on June 7, 1929 in Newburgh, NY.

A lifelong area resident, “Jack” as he was known to family and friends, was a true Newburgh “west ender”. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Jack was the retired founder and operator of Derham Frame & Axle, Newburgh, NY. He was an accomplished TV repairman and master of all trades. Jack was a member of the New Windsor Post #1792 American Legion, the Vogue Motorhome Club and the Family Motor Coach Association of America.

Survivors include four sons, Brian J. (Shayne) Derham, Sr. of Marlboro, NY, Gary M. Derham, Sr. of Newburgh, John Scott (Susan) Derham, Jr. of Newburgh and Mark C. Derham of Wilmington, NC; one daughter, Robin M. (Donald Presutti) Galage of Marlboro; companion, Carol Barnes of Pleasant Valley, NY; fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Joan Marie (Gerken) Derham in 2002 and a sister, Anne Cornell.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. “The family would like to extend special thanks to the Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, his hospice nurses Wendy and Sandy, Leslie Derham, Thomas Crudele and Tammy Seipp for all their loving efforts in making John’s last days better.”
