Joseph C. Bruno “Pepi”

Posted

Formerly of Fleetwood Dr. in the Town of Newburgh, Air Force Veteran Joseph Bruno, commonly known as “Pepi” or “Pep” by friends, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning in his home in Cortlandt Manor with his family by his side.

Pepi will forever be remembered by his vivid personality and passion for shooting sports. He was like an onion - you needed to spend time peeling away layers of colorful persona before you could truly define him and witness the true size of his heart. Those close to him knew he was at his best when he was hunting or teaching others firearms safety and bullet reloading, most recently as a member and elected committee chairman of the Bethlehem Rod & Gun Club in Plattekill, NY.

Joseph is survived by his loving and loyal wife of 36 years, Mary T. Bruno, son Anthony J. Bruno, daughter-in-law Adriana J. Bruno and his “favorite little rodent”, granddaughter Angelina C. Bruno.

A Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, December 22nd at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Town of Newburgh. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Montgomery.

Arrangements are by Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc.
