Joseph C. Guardino, Jr. of the Town of Newburgh, owner of Sunshine Ice Cream, Newburgh and a longtime resident of the area passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 20, 2018, in Newburgh. He was 58.

The son of Joseph Guardino, Sr. and Virginia Ruberto Guardino, he was born July 19, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY.
He was a Scout Leader of Boy Scout Troop 125 for over 18 years, Joseph was a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. Joseph also was an Oil Technician for SOS Fuels.

Survivors include his wife Audrey (Acker) at home; sons Charles Guardino at home and Anthony Guardino of California; daughter Alyssa Guardino at home; his parents of Newburgh; brother Steven Guardino of Newburgh; sister Susan Guardino of Houston, TX; Uncle Pat and Aunt Mary Ruberto of Brooklyn, NY Uncle Len Guardino of Bronx and by many in laws, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Sunday, Dec. 23 at the Millspaugh Funeral Home, Walden, with Father William Muhm officiating. 

In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to Camp Veritas to sponsor a scout to camp in Joseph’s name at campveritas.org.
