On October 2, 2022, at approximately 9:33 a.m., State Police responded to the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge for a report of a jumper.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 23-year-old male from Cornwall exited his vehicle on the eastbound lane of the bridge and jumped from the right shoulder. He was located deceased in a grassy area below the bridge. New York State Police were assisted by the Town of Newburgh Police.
