At this month’s New Windsor Town Board meeting, one of the topics of conversation was a traffic light that was installed at - and subsequently removed from - the intersection of Route 94 and Butter Hill Drive, near Nature’s Pantry.
“Is it a monetary issue that the state doesn’t want to pay $60,000?” asked Supervisor George J. Meyers. “Maybe we would pay it. They must have some thoughts, they put it up, they took it down.”
Meyers suggested checking in with the state Department of Transportation to find out why the traffic signal, which board members agreed was useful in controlling traffic that came in and out of the shopping center.
“If it’s a money issue, I would ask the town board to consider paying for the light,” Meyers said.
