A Missouri man was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly pulling a gun on an employee during a dispute at a Mobile gas station in the Town of Newburgh.
Town of Newburgh police responded to the gas station at 246 Route 17K at approximately 8:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a man brandishing a firearm. Upon arrival, officers identified the suspect as Kristopher Peters, 47, of Joplin, Missouri.
The investigation revealed that Peters had allegedly pointed a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun at the employee during the altercation. The firearm was found in Peters’ vehicle and was determined to be illegal.
Peters was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony. He was arraigned before Town Justice Richard Clarino, who set bail at $30,000 cash or $40,000 bond. Peters was subsequently remanded to the Orange County Jail.
