The Newburgh Board of Education voted to postpone the resolution on the rotation of district meetings to the first meeting in October at their August 13 meeting. The proposal to rotate the board meetings has been met with resistance from the public. Board members have either been opposed or supported the movement of the meetings to the other municipalities.
According the resolution from Tuesday night, the locations of the meetings were proposed as follows: September - Meadow Hill; October - Temple Hill; November - Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus; December - Meadow Hill; January - Temple Hill; February - NFA Main; March - Meadow Hill; April - Temple Hill; May - NFA Main and June - Meadow Hill.
With the postponement, the board of education will look to have a proposal about the proposed rotations be presented in October. The district will look at the school buildings to see which ones can accommodate the meetings for each of the communities in the district.
