Partners in Caring Program helps fight hunger

Posted

Hello New Windsor. I was glad to be a part of a very good cause recently, as myself and other officials from the Town of New Windsor volunteered to bag groceries at the Vails Gate ShopRite to bring awareness to their Partners in Caring Program “Help Bag Hunger.”

I always enjoy volunteering for this program that helps so many food pantries and hunger assistance programs all over, but I do get a little nervous while bagging other people’s groceries because some people are very particular in the way they want their groceries bagged. If I ever go shopping myself I always throw everything together not really caring how it is sorted as long as things don’t get crushed, but while bagging groceries for someone else I am a lot more cognizant of what I put in each bag. I didn’t seem to make anyone too mad when I was bagging their groceries, so that was a good thing!
