Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash with injuries that occurred late Wednesday morning on State Route 32 near Fern Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene around 11 a.m. and requested assistance from New Windsor EMS and Fire Department for possible entrapment. The driver of one vehicle fled on foot toward Newburgh.

Three people were transported by New Windsor EMS to Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries. Firefighters inspected vehicles for hazards and cleaned up fluids from the roadway.

Route 32 was closed between Lake Drive and Ruscitti Road due to debris in the road. Police impounded the vehicle abandoned by the fleeing driver.
