With the counting of absentee ballots, results of last week’s Democratic Primary races are now official.
Incumbent Legislator Kevindaryan Lujan received 59.51% percent of the vote in the race for the 4th Legislative District. Lujan defeated Gabrielle Hill 319-216 with one write-in.
In the race for the sixth legislative district, Genesis Ramos was an easy winner of Roger D. Ramjug for the Democratic nomination (394-188 with 3 write-in votes). Ramos received 67.35 percent of the vote.
In the race for Newburgh City Council Ward 1; Giselle L. Martinez captured 54.7 % of the vote. With 198 votes, she defeated Schnekwa McNeil (110) and Gay Lee (41), with 13 write-ins.
