Reapportionment hearing set for August 27

The Orange County Legislature will hold a public hearing on August 27 starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. at the Orange County Government Center to receive public comment on a proposed reapportionment plan. The plan involves the reapportionment of the legislative districts within the county. Legislators have expressed in previous meetings concerns over the redistricting and the overall process with the planning.

Copies of the map for the proposed reapportioned Legislative Districts are available on the Orange County website. The map is also available at the Office of the Clerk of the County Legislature. Written comments relating to the proposed reapportionment plan shall be accepted by the Clerk of the Orange County Legislature through 9 p.m. on August 27. Written comments may be delivered via e-mail by sending comments to jramppen@orangecountygov.com.
