The Town of Newburgh Planning Board approved the amended site plan on Thursday, July 21 for Safe Haven Self Storage to be developed along Route 17K.

The proposed project intended to convert the former Orange County Choppers [OCC] headquarters facility into a self-storage facility located at Crossroads Court located on 17K. The first and second floors of the building would be converted into personal self-storage. In the basement, the underground garage would be converted into storage for classical cars.
MBH Development Group purchased the property back in 2016 and Engineering & Surveying Properties [ESP], PC are the engineering firm representing the project. Similar facilities from MBH have been developed in the City of Middletown, Elmsford and Mount Kisco, NY.

The town is awaiting a Stormwater Facility Maintenance Agreement and lot consolidation.
