Skoufis announces $392K for NW sewer Rehabilitation

Senator James Skoufis applauded a $392,188 Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WIIA) grant awarded to the Town of New Windsor. The funding, announced last week, will support New Windsor’s sewer rehabilitation and improve water quality.

New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) has approved more than $44 million for drinking water and wastewater projects across New York State, including this grant. The funding provides cost-effective solutions for critical infrastructure projects across the state that protect or improve water quality.

“I’m thrilled to see the Town of New Windsor receiving this critical funding to upgrade its aging sewer system,” said Skoufis, “and I congratulate Supervisor (George) Meyers on this impactful funding. Recent storms have reminded us time and again the importance of giving our aging water systems the attention and resources they need to support local residents and this grant will allow the Town to do just that.”

“Thank you Senator Skoufis for always being there for our New Windsor residents,” added Town of New Windsor Supervisor George Meyers.
