“It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.”
George Washington,
Father of our Country
Aren’t you tired of the American presidential election year rhetoric, and battles and mud-slinging that have been constantly divisive and difficult? So much is at stake in this year’s elections, that is different from any other times in recent memory. It is imperative we vote with an informed conscience, to protect our rights and freedoms and those of future generations. It is our moral obligation, this is America, the greatest country, formed by the blood and prayers of brave and holy men and women, this is our freedom, this is our Constitution.
On November 5, let us vote for a leader committed to moral justice and a holy conscience that guides us in the ways of love, truth, justice, and peace. That remains our prayer and our challenge in 2024 and beyond.
St. Patrick’s Church will have its Annual Bereavement Mass and Candlelight Service on Monday, November 25, at 6 p.m. There will be a book available in church before Mass begins, for you to add your loved one’s name. During the candlelight service, each name will be read aloud. Father Fernando has requested, if you so choose, that you please bring a picture of your loved one, photos, frames, etc.to be placed on the remembrance table in front of the altar. All are welcome.

The Newburgh Area Retired Teachers’ Association (NARTA) held its annual “Eighty-five Plus” luncheon at Temple Hill Tavern this October, honoring the fifteen NARTA members who are 85 or older. It is always refreshing catching up with old friends and welcoming new members.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence to remember NARTA’s 85+ members: Geraldine Betters, Ema Crossetta, and Margaet Saterly who have recently died, President Laura Fraher introduced the six honored guests attending the luncheon: Virginia Aller, Jacqueline Hey, Ida Jones, Eileen Keeler, Mailyn Maisonet, and Norma Trent.
The nine honored guests not attending: Elsie Beauchamp, Rachel Fitzgibbons, Adelfa Gutierrez, Jean Harris, Alan Leontovich, Christina Sharp, Rosemarie Shidler, Anthony Wesnkeski, and Esteen Williams were sent “Thinking of you” cards.
May you always have an angel at your side.
