The Town of Newburgh Board signed and notarized a contract with the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) of Newburgh at the Oct. 13 board meeting.

Officers will get a three and a half percent increase in salaries starting January 1, 2022 and go through 2024. Officers will also get an additional personal day and Juneteenth will be added as a holiday on the federal calendar. Court officer salaries will be adjusted and also increase three and a half percent.

Before the motion was approved, Town Supervisor Gil Piaquadio and other board members recognized the officers with a round of applause for their service and work on the contract.

“This is an outstanding police department,” Piaquadio said.
