Unity Place warehouse returns before board

The Town of Newburgh Planning Board reviewed during their meeting on July 21 the site plan for the project known as Unity Place Warehouse, proposed to be located at the corner of Unity Place and Old Little Britain Road.

The proposed project, represented by Brooker Engineering, appeared back in June 16 with a site plan for a newly proposed commercial warehouse and office building. The proposed warehouse, 154, 700 square feet, was originally 162, 800 square feet. The site reduction allowed for more green space and storm water management for the property. Employee parking lots were proposed on the opposite ends of the facility. Renderings show the facility parallel to Unity Place but not exposing the loading bays and other docks. The building colors slightly mimic the color palette of the Jehovah witness center located along Unity Place.

No immediate decision was made as the town will require a lot consolidation, a City of Newburgh Flow Acceptance Letter, project cost estimates for stormwater management and landscaping, which must be approved by the Town of Newburgh board and a review of traffic. Once all requirements are in order, a public hearing will be set for the project.
